About Us
The Ask The Surgery website and newspaper feature is a local doctors' surgery initiative. Its focus is on creating another channel for residents and patients to ask health professionals questions in a confidential environment. This can be through the website, via email (ask@thesurgery.org.uk) or by writing to any of the contributor GP surgeries titling the correspondence 'Ask The Surgery'.
Topics can range from seasonal health questions, advice on specialist care, local patient groups and where to seek help. With the continual changes to the NHS many patients are keen to find out how this may have an impact of their healthcare provision.
Using staff involved in front line care within doctors' surgeries, including those who are activity involved in the Clinical Commissioning Groups, we can provide insightful answers, free of charge.
This facility should not replace a medical consultation with your GP or a nurse, and should certainly never be used in an emergency, where you should dial 999. If you live within the UK and require medical advice please call NHS Direct on 0845 4647, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Ask The Surgery facility is anonymous and we only require an email address from you so we can notify you when your question has been answered. Any personal details captured on this site are not used for any other purpose or passed onto any third party organisations.
